Is TypePet free to play?

Yes — completely free. No subscription, premium tier, or in-app purchases.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Guest play is available immediately. A Google account lets you save a permanent username and appear on the global leaderboard.

How is WPM calculated?

Characters typed ÷ 5 ÷ elapsed minutes — the same standard used by Monkeytype and Keybr. Only correctly typed characters count toward the final WPM.

How many players can race at once?

Up to 4 players per room. Matchmaking is automatic — no invite links needed.

Does TypePet work on mobile?

Yes. TypePet has a dedicated mobile layout with a custom QWERTY virtual keyboard so autocorrect and predictive text never interfere with your typing.

What mini-games are available?

Currently: Zombie Shooter — type words to shoot zombies across 20 levels. More games are in development.

Does solo mode work without internet?

Yes. Solo typing practice runs entirely in your browser. No server connection is needed — the game loads from cache after your first visit.
